OAuth flow interrupted — popup closed or redirect failed

Disable popup blockers; retry; check browser compatibility. Most common cause is a popup blocker stopping the Google/Meta consent window.

What's happening

When you click "Connect Google Analytics" (or any of the other platform connects), AgencyLens opens a small popup window that takes you to Google's or Meta's consent screen. If that popup gets closed before you finish — by you, by your browser, or by an extension — AgencyLens never receives the authorisation it needs and reports the flow as interrupted.

The most common causes: a popup blocker stripped the new window, a tab-management extension closed it, or you clicked back on the main tab and accidentally cancelled.

How to fix it

  1. Look at the URL bar of your main AgencyLens tab. If you see a small popup-blocked icon (Chrome shows a window-with-a-red-cross), click it and choose Always allow popups from dashboard.agencylens.app.
  2. If you use uBlock Origin, AdGuard, or a similar extension, temporarily disable it for dashboard.agencylens.app just for the connect flow. (You can re-enable after.)
  3. Click Connect again. The popup should open. Complete the consent screen — pick the Google/Meta account, click Allow.
  4. Don't close the popup yourself. It closes automatically once consent is granted.
  5. Don't navigate away from the AgencyLens tab while the popup is open.

If your browser uses Strict tracking prevention (Brave, Safari, Firefox Strict), the popup may close immediately because cross-site cookies are blocked. Switch to Standard mode for dashboard.agencylens.app just for the connect, or use a Chromium-based browser for the initial connect.

When to email support

If the popup opens, you complete consent, and AgencyLens still reports an interrupted flow — that's a real bug, not a UX issue. Email support@agencylens.app with: browser name + version, the platform you tried to connect (GA4 / GSC / Google Ads / Meta), and a screenshot of any error message the popup showed before closing.
